Matt W. Dede

Graduate Research Assistant

Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN.  August 2003 to May 2008.  Bachelors of Science in Geology.
University of Tennessee Space Institute, Tullahoma, TN.  August 2009 to Present.  Masters of Science in Materials Science and Engineering.

Matt Dede is currently pursuing research interests in molecularly imprinted polymers for use in environmental remediation of groundwater contaminants.  This goal is achievable through the production of ion selective electrodes imprinted for specific ions such as lead, zinc, and uranium.  The research focuses on electrochemical analysis of aqueous solutions which produce thin polymer films on an electrode developed to detect and sequester contaminants.

Geological Society of America member since December 2007
